Barnaby @ Basic Models
A pale, unblemished skin has always been the beauty ideal of women in Asian cultures. Some have gone to great lengths to maintain this fair and white skin to reflect a seemingly higher social status. While the desire for fair and white skin is observed among various cultures, Albinos are often made fun for their genetically pale skin. Our group seeks to challenge the definition of conventional beauty that comes from having white skin, and reveal the unconventional beauty of Albinos through the exploration of material culture, technology and textile design which are evidently reflected through the type of treatment on our visuals, film and garment design.
